The New Wave Singers, Maryland’s premier GLBTS mixed chorus, will be performing Stonewall: from Revolution to Celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Revolution. Tickets are available through their site (http://newwavesingers.org/tickets/ ) or at the door.
Save the date for a fun night of fellowship and fundraising! There’ll be a reverse raffle, pot luck dinner, and celebration for Sara’s time with Epiphany. All are welcome whether or not a raffle ticket is purchased.
8 a.m. – a quiet celebration of Easter10 a.m. – a festive Easter service with the Epiphany Choir and trumpet followed by two Easter egg hunts (split by age)
“Tenebrae” is a latin word for “darkness.” Epiphany’s evening Good Friday service is a Tenebrae service of darkness with the Epiphany Choir.
You can choose between participating in an inter-generational, hands on Stations of the Cross experience downstairs in the Big Room or a self-guided, quiet, meditative Stations of the Cross experience in the sanctuary.
A solemn service including the adoration of the cross.
A service with music including optional footwashing, the stripping of the Altar, and a closing procession to the Memorial Garden.
Jesus washed feet, so we wash cars. “Love one another as I have loved you,” Jesus said to his disciples as he washed their feet the night before he was crucified. Our feet are no longer our primary mode of transportation, our cars are. So to show the love that Jesus did on the first Maundy Thursday, area youth will freely wash your car this Maundy Thursday.
8 a.m. – a quiet celebration of Palm Sunday10 a.m. – a musical celebration of Passion & Palm Sunday with a procession beginning outside with palms
Epiphany will be hosting an Organ Recital featuring both Henry Lowe, organist emeritus of Church of the Redeemer, and Epiphany’s own Mary Hamlin-Spencer. Featured works are by J.S. Bach, Vincent Lubeck, Samuel Wesley, Horatio Parker, and Adolf Hesse on Epiphany’s 2-manual tracker-action pipe organ. A reception will follow in the Common Room. Come on out to support Epiphany’s music program & bring a friend!
